About Jeff

Jeff Nickel

My passion for photography started in high school when I took my first film class and stepped into the darkroom. I was hooked immediately by the process, the storytelling, and the ability to freeze moments in time. Separately, I’ve always had a deep love for music and the energy of live shows. I soon realized that I could bring those two passions together and capture the raw intensity of live performance through a camera lens.

I bring a polished, dramatic style to my work, focusing on expressive moments and the way light interacts with musicians on stage. Whether I’m photographing a major touring act in an arena or a rising band in a local club, I aim to tell the story of the show in a way that feels powerful and real. My work has been published and shared by the artists I photograph, and each shoot pushes me to find new ways to connect visuals with sound.

I’m based in Orlando, Florida, and often shoot while traveling. By day, I serve as the Chief Photographer for Disney Photo Imaging at Walt Disney World, managing creative experiences that capture meaningful moments for guests from around the world. Concert photography is my personal space to create, explore, and stay sharp. It keeps me connected to the music and constantly inspired by the emotion that unfolds on stage.

When you see my work, I want you to feel it: the heat of the lights, the pulse of the crowd, and the emotion pouring out of every performance.
